The pandemic has made for an unprecedented period in K-12 education. It has forced educators at every level to rethink how they do their jobs; to prepare to pivot to a different method of delivering instruction at a moment’s notice and – in some instances – weigh the health risks of remaining in a career to which they’ve dedicated years of their professional lives.

Our robust EdWeek survey, released this fall, captured in-depth data on specific ways that the pandemic is affecting the K-12 educational landscape—particularly regarding recruiting and retention—now, and into the future. A total of 251 human resources professionals and 5,470 school employees/job seekers responded to our robust survey, which posed the types of questions on all recruiters’ minds, including: How likely teachers are to quit during the pandemic? And do recruiters believe the pandemic will force teacher layoffs this academic year?

The bottom line? Accessing EdWeek’s just-released exclusive data will help inform your decision-making process as you seek to recruit and retain employees to support your districts’ continued success during these unprecedented times.
